Mostly A’s — He actually heard you. A no that costs you nothing is the rarest thing on this list. This is what safe feels like — and it can seem boring at first.
Mostly B’s — He sulks till you fold. Your no is technically allowed. It just comes with a mood you have to fix. A yes that ends a sulk isn’t a yes.
Mostly C’s — He renegotiates every no. Every no becomes an opening bid. A no you have to defend three times was never treated as one — you don’t owe him a better reason.
Mostly D’s — He goes cold on you. Warmth that switches off when you disagree is a lever, whether he means it or not. Notice how fast you start apologising to get it back.
