Mostly A’s — He actually hears you. This is what ‘he can handle it’ looks like: you said the thing, he adjusted, and nobody paid for it afterwards. Keep asking plainly. You’ve found someone who doesn’t make honesty expensive.
Mostly B’s — You’re the problem, always. Every complaint boomerangs back onto you, so you’ve started pre-editing yourself. Say one thing plainly, with no apology in front of it, and watch whether it goes fine or becomes your fault again.
Mostly C’s — He goes cold instead. The silence afterwards isn’t him thinking, it’s the price of bringing anything up. Watch whether the cold stretch gets shorter each time. Same length every time is a policy, not a mood.
Mostly D’s — He agrees, then nothing. ‘You’re right’ is cheap and he knows it. Swap the general ask for one specific one — a named day, one call this week. A vague request is the easiest kind to nod at and then drop.
