The results
Mostly A’s — Off his phone, not off you. He’s living a life and he tells you about it afterwards, with names in it. That’s not avoidance, that’s a man with a Saturday. Judge him on what he does with his week, not his phone.
Mostly B’s — You’re not in his weekend life. Two days a week you don’t exist and he never explains them. Don’t accuse — ask for one Saturday, one specific date. A yes or no there tells you more than a month of guessing.
Mostly C’s — He surfaces when he’s alone. He contacts you when his options run out, which is a time slot, not a relationship. Ask for something before 6pm that isn’t logistics. If it never happens, that’s the answer.
Mostly D’s — He retreats after closeness. Closeness goes in, three quiet days come out — that’s a nervous system, not a verdict on you. The question isn’t whether he’s avoidant, it’s whether he’ll talk about it when you ask.
